Local and area residents have done their part to fight a deadly yet preventable disease. The Stewartville Kiwanis Club, continuing its effort to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus in poor countries around the world, collected $851.38 in donations during the club's annual Peanut Days on Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9. Club members accepted the donations at Fareway and the Casey's south store. Each resident who donated received a free bag of peanuts.
