Memorial service for Gerald Bamlet Aug. 10 in Hubbard
Gerald Lyle Bamlet, 73, of Nevis, passed away Aug. 4, 2017 at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Gerald was born at home on April 28, 1944 to Glen and Ruth (Schleusner) Bamlet, in Elmira Township, Minnesota. Gerald attended school in Chatfield, graduating from Chosen Valley High School in 1963.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Irene Noble on Nov. 19, 1966. This marriage was blessed with three daughters. Gerald served honorably as a Marine during the Vietnam era, serving two tours. Gerald was an accomplished cabinet maker for 15 years and a longhaul trucker for 15 years as well. He retired from trucking in 2004. His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Iantha Hallauer of Akeley, Aretha Bamlet of Beulaville, North Carolina and Tapetha Kendall of Comfort, North Carolina; grandchildren, Danny (Alicia) Bamlet of Nevis, Nicki Bamlet (Alan) of Goodwin, South Dakota, Jessica Kautter (Eric) of Cumberland, Wis., Jasmine Bamlet of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jenna Smith of Beulaville, North Carolina, Trisha (Brad) Willis of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Emily Kendall (Justin) of Jacksonville, Rachel (Chris) Fordham of Kinston, North Carolina, Courtney Kendall of Wallace, North Carolina and Kyle Lancaster Kendall of Comfort; great-grandchildren, Keira, Shaylee, Taylor, Colton, Ryker, Harlie, Alex, Jaymes, Anakin and Jacob; sisters, Donna Bus of Illinois and Gail (Russ) Schandroff of Stewartville; a brother, Larry Bamlet of Stewartville, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gorden Bamlet.
To the man, husband, dad, George, and grandpa, we love you and will miss you greatly.
Memorial services were held Aug. 10, 2017, at Eastside Christian Church in Hubbard, with military honors by Star of the North Marine Corps League-Honors Team. Taps were performed by Ray Vaadeland.
Interment was at Resthaven Cemetery in Nevis.
