Shortly after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic arrived in southeastern Minnesota in March 2020, Anita Wendt decided to plant two plots in the city of Stewartville's community garden.
"I did it to get through COVID and to keep my sanity," she said.
Although she was isolated from others, she found solace in her garden, where, with able assistance from Jim Kvall, she put in cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, green beans, beets, summer squash, zucchini and dill plants for pickling...
