The city of Stewartville has been honored for its work fluoridating the community's water supply.
Mayor Jimmie-John King told the City Council last week the city has received the Water Fluoridation Quality Award for 2019 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
"These awards are given...every year to communities maintaining a consistent level of fluoride in drinking water throughout the year," says a news release from the Minnesota Department of Health.
