Randy M. Reinhardt, 64, of rural Stewartville, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 unexpectedly following a short illness at Mayo Clinic Rochester-St. Marys Campus.
Randy Maurice Reinhardt was born on Oct. 27, 1956, in Rochester, to Maurice and Donna (Runge) Reinhardt. He grew up in Rochester, attended Mayo High School, graduating in 1975 and was employed at Rochester Public Utilities (RPU).
Randy was married on Nov. 28, 1987 to Wendy J. Wellik at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley Township. The couple moved to rural Stewartville, where they raised their daughters and have continued to make their home. Randy enjoyed his job at RPU for 39 years and retired in 2016. Wendy was employed at Truax Orthodontics and Praska Orthodontics in Rochester, for over 40 years as a dental assistant. Randy was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a current member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stewartville. When the girls were young, Randy was very involved in their 4-H, FFA and sports activities. He enjoyed doing projects in his shop at his home. Randy also liked visiting and spending time with friends and neighbors and most of all being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his wife, Wendy; two daughters, Emily (Evan) Briggs of Zumbro Falls and Amy (Broderick) Diekman of Waltham; five grandchildren, Teegen and Ryleigh Briggs, Kara Shrock, and Colton and Duke Diekman; his sister, Laurie Reinhardt of Rochester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Sharon Wellik of Rochester; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Linda Wellik of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Randy's Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 2:30-5 p.m at the Stewartville American Legion.
A private family memorial service for Randy will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stewartville, with Rev. Lyle Fritsch officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
